This site does not ask you to sign in, submit personal information, or store study content. No analytics or advertising cookies are configured in the website source. The hosting provider may process ordinary connection logs needed to serve and protect the site.
Your learning records stay local by default
StudyLoop stores its database, plans, generated material, and optional exports on your machine unless you choose a sync or export. MCP tools use that same local configuration and can write to it when you authorise an agent to call them.
Provider terms still apply
A cloud-backed AI agent may send conversation content to its model provider. StudyLoop cannot make that provider local or private. Check the agent’s privacy, retention, and billing settings before using sensitive material.
Obsidian and xTiles should remain a choice
StudyLoop supports opt-in Obsidian session export. The v0.2.0 tag also includes plan and Today publishing. Obsidian is the free, local option: StudyLoop writes files into a folder you name on your own disk, and StudyLoop itself opens no network connection to do it. What happens to that folder afterwards is your vault’s arrangement — if you use Obsidian Sync, iCloud, Dropbox or a similar service, those files travel the way the rest of your vault travels, and StudyLoop cannot speak for that.
xTiles is the connected option, and StudyLoop deliberately does not talk to it. Your own assistant holds both connections. That means two boundaries to keep in mind: study material that a cloud-backed assistant reads can reach its model service, not only when you ask for something xTiles-related; and the optional wind-down skill, if you enable it, offers at the end of a session rather than waiting to be asked. What StudyLoop can promise is narrower and checkable: it stores no xTiles credential, holds no copy of what was written, and never contacts xTiles itself.
Publishing replaces StudyLoop-owned projections, not your separate notes. Keep your own writing in the sibling .notes.mdfile. Disconnect xTiles in your assistant’s MCP settings; changing StudyLoop’s provider does not revoke the assistant’s connection.
